Yeah, so I totally have prom hair today! It's so funny (and, let's be honest, FUN!) I do my hair the same pretty much everyday: down and straight. Not much variety in that area of my life. My super adorable friend bought me a hair piece for my birthday (which I am not having this year or any other year), so I decided to try it out today. I only wear my hair up when I work out, so people at work are understandably confused today. But, the guy at Einstein has never been flirty before and he totally was today.

Photo Blog

I've loved photography for as long as I can remember. My first opportunity to go crazy and take hundreds of photos was my first trip to Hawaii in 1997. I was there for 5 days and took over 300 pictures. I haven't slowed down at all. In 2002, my best dad surprised me with my first SLR - a Nikon N80. I was so excited! Definitely the best present I've ever gotten. I was immediately hooked. I have taken thousands of photos since then (tens of thousands???)...sometimes, people even pay me!
So, I've started a photo blog because people have asked to see what I've done. I've taken quite a few bridals in the past 2 or 3 weeks so that is all that's on there so far, but there's more to come. Check it out and let me know what you think!

of all the rotten luck...

Today is not my day.

It started out okay, but took a turn for the worse as I was driving to work. Apparently, they're pretty strict that the speed limit on University Avenue is 50 mph and not 66 mph. Those speed limit signs are not a suggestion. Geez. I haven't taken off my studded snow tires yet (I was supposed to have them off April 15th), so I was really worried that I would get a ticket for that. I pulled over and (a super hot) police officer came up to my car and asked me how I was doing today...

Really? Do you really want to know how I'm doing? Well, I was great up until about 30 seconds ago.

Then he asked me if I knew why he pulled me over.

Was it because I was speeding or because I drank a little with breakfast and am having a hard time staying in my lane? Maybe it's because I was shaving my legs while driving or the dead body in my trunk?

Does anyone ever answer that? He asked me if I knew what the speed limit was on this road. When I got that answer right, he asked me if I knew how fast I was going. I really didn't, so he informed that I was going 66 and the guy behind me was going 64. Awesome. I'm glad I at least had company. Then he said, "Also, I noticed that you didn't signal back there when you changed lanes." That's really funny because usually I'm a blinker natzi and get really annoyed when people don't signal. I was eating an apple though and it was too much work to signal while holding my half-eaten apple (which I quickly hid). He took the requested paperwork and sat in his car for SOOOOO long that it was annoying. Of course I knew that he was writing me a ticket because a warning doesn't take that long (it's sad that I actually know that). Sure enough, he ticketed me for 9 over and just gave me a warning for the signal violation. That's just so great.

He told me to drive safe and to have a good day.

Sure thing.

You too.

But, honestly, I speed every time I drive, so it was just a matter of time. I didn't speed at lunch and don't plan on speeding on the way home. We'll see how long this lasts. I'm so glad he wasn't too observant and didn't notice my tires. He, for sure, would have ticketed me for that. I need to be grateful for the small things I guess.

Common Courtesy

This is an unofficial public service announcement...actually, let's go ahead and make it an official announcement/request:

IF YOU HAVE GAS, DON'T GO TO THE GYM.

Seriously. There is nothing more gross and few things that annoy me more than someone dropping a literal stink bomb while I'm huffing and puffing my way through a workout. Is it too much to ask? I (usually) enjoy a pretty intense spin class 3 to 4 mornings a week. I go Tues, Wed, Fri and sometimes Sat. It's my very, very favorite workout but not so enjoyable when I can't breathe.

This morning was especially bad which is why I feel the need to vent. We were almost half way up our second hill when I was smacked in the face with the most horrible smell. I really almost got off my bike and left the room just to get the oxygen I so badly needed, but quickly realized everyone would think it was me and I was not taking the blame for that. Sadly, it continued through the rest of our 'ride.' It was so bad that Jay (the cute instructor) commented on it at the end of class. Kinda awkward, but not really because it wasn't me.

I wonder if a sign on the door would help.

I know this is a super classy post. Thankfully, my mom doesn't read my blog.

My favorite part of this whole week is my new Magic Bullet. I don't know how long they've been around or how many people their infomercials have bugged, but I love it! I eat a lot of fruit but lately I've been pretty bored with plain bananas, apples and oranges. Not anymore! Now I can whip up delicious smoothies in no time. I've had 2 a day since I got it on Monday and I don't even have to feel guilty because they're healthy. The best part is that I just make one smoothie at a time, then throw the cup in the dishwasher. (Costco has a $10 off coupon this week).

So, please come over if you have a hankering for a delicious smoothie!

I just saw the cutest movie! Don't laugh, but I love, loved 17 Again. I know - I had no hopes that it was going to be very good, but it was so great! And, call me a cougar, but Zac Efron is a-dorable! Seriously. (I am not ashamed to admit that I own all 3 High School Musical movies just because of him). Maybe I should be a little ashamed...

My favorite part of 17 Again is when Zac pulls up to the high school in the sports car. I don't even really care that he's wearing skinny jeans (they are rarely acceptable - ok, actually, never acceptable on guys except for this scene).

I definitely needed to cleanse my movie palate because I saw probably the very worst movie I have ever seen on Friday. Please, please, please do not watch The Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, I beg you. I promise you'll thank me. In all of my movie experience combined, never have I seen so many people get up and walk out. Unfortunately, I was not one of them, but wish so badly that I could have those two hours of my life back. First of all, it was very offensive and second, who told Matthew McConaughey he could act? Honestly. The guy can only play one character. Think about all of the movies he's been in...and he plays the exact same character in all of them. He looks okay without a shirt, but he had it on the whole movie. A very, very big disappointment (the whole movie, not that Matt was fully clothed). If you're really curious I would wait to check it out from Red Box and probably only when you have a coupon code for a free rental and a couple of free hours...then be sure to take it back on time!

Let's have another look at my new boyfriend - "boy" being the operative word, I know.

yummy.
