Insurance Can Be Fun...Really!

I love dressing up for work on Halloween. It's so great to take a break from the normal routine and see what everyone comes up with for costumes.

Here's how it went this year:

Erica and I got these awesome hats last year in Albuquerque when we went for our insurance class. It was pretty nice having it planned for almost an entire year. Of course, I waited until the week of Halloween to get all of the accessories, but it turned out okay. Except for the spurs. I 'won' them on eBay (99 cents! No joke!) a week and a half before Halloween, and they didn't get here until 10/30, which would be fine on most years, but was a day too late this year since we dressed up for work on 10/29. Oh well, I'll have them for next time.

We had a great day! I've already started planning for next year!

Back Witch!

One of my favorite parts of the Halloween season (it's a real thing, I promise) is something that happens just north of my hometown. Someone puts up an awesome Halloween decoration of a life-sized witch who 'flew into' a telephone pole. It's so great and I look forward to it every year. I'm pretty sure I've driven all the way to Hailey just to see it. Ok, maybe not, but I do like it a whole lot.

So, imagine my surprise (and disappointment) when I was home a couple of weeks ago, and the witch wasn't there! I mean, I'm sure I'll eventually get over it, but it was almost Halloween for crying out loud! Get with it! Get the witch up! (I probably should insert a confession here: I didn't put up my decorations until 6 days before Halloween this year, so I can't really judge). Anyhoo, I headed back to Utah on a Sunday afternoon. Monday morning, my dad sent me a text announcing that the witch was up! I only missed her probably by a couple of hours. Lame. But, I'm so glad she got to fly (well, at least crash) again this year.

My best dad promised to send me a picture, but never drove by when it was light. So, yesterday, he took his whole lunch break just to get me a picture. He's so awesome. So, here she is!

Isn't she great? She hangs out for a couple of weeks every fall on the west side of Hwy 75 between Hailey and Ketchum if you ever want to visit.

What the...?

Yes, that is a traffic barrel underneath Mr. I'm So Cool Cuz I Drive A Big Truck And Can Drive Over Anything In My Way's truck. I followed him for quite a while, so that thing was really stuck. I decided to change lanes after I realized I would be in a world of trouble if/when it came free. Pretty sure that barrel would own my little Beetle.

Just Helping Out

So, I'm worried that my co-workers might be having a hard time picking out costumes for Halloween this year, so I found an app on my iPhone to help them out. For some reason, I don't think they enjoyed it as much as I did...

I'm not really sure why they willingly let me take their pictures, but I'm so glad they do. The last awesome app I found is called "The Ugly Test." It scans pictures of faces, then gives an ugly score from 1 to 10. It's pretty awesome. It's not really real. I got a 9.8 (really ugly!) then a 1.6 right after. We have since stopped playing that particular game because, of course, I have to be the best looking and, so far, 1.6 wins.

It's That Time of Year Again!

I love Halloween. With all my heart. It's my second favorite holiday next to Christmas. One thing I don't love about Halloween, however, is carving pumpkins. Sure, I loved toasted pumpkin seeds as much as the next person, but I cannot handle all of that orange, slimy, smelly crap. Ew. I'm a big fan of those people who actually can the stuff so I can make pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. That's definitely a job that sucks more than mine.

So, I decided that I want to paint pumpkins this year. I have a cute little friend named Justice. I thought it would be really fun to paint with her, so she came over and we slapped some faces on a couple of pumpkins.

This is definitely going to be an annual tradition from now on. It's so fun!

I got to go to the zoo with two of my favorite little boys on Saturday. I have never been to the Hogle Zoo and wanted to hang out with Jake and Mikey, so I decided to take them. When I got to their house to pick them up, I knocked on the door and heard an excited squeal inside, "She's here!" It was so adorable! I could just eat these two up. They're awesome. We had such a great time. They have the most fantastic little personalities.

So, I think there is a limit to the number of photos you can put in a post, so I'll have to do two posts. (You'd think that I'd be embarrassed at my obsession with photos, but I'm not).

So Adorable.

My brother posted this photo on Facebook the other day:

His wife wasn't feeling well that day and when he came home from work, he found his son with bedhead. The photo caption read: "It's always the children that suffer."

It still makes me giggle.
