I got to spend a good part of Saturday with my Grandma Fern. She is awesome. I need to see her more.
She told me the funniest story. When she was like 14 or 15, there was this cute guy that would walk by her house often and she would watch for him out the window. One day, she was at the city pool and walked by this good-looking boy and as she passed him, she pushed him into the pool.
She said that the look of terror on his face immediately told her that he didn't know how to swim. Sure enough, he sunk right to the bottom. She couldn't swim too well either ("I could doggie paddle" she told me) but she jumped in and pushed him to the top while she stood on the bottom. Cute, huh?
Thankfully, they both survived this ordeal, but he was so mad at her that he never even spoke to her.
That's some gratitude for saving your life, buddy.
Moral of the story: If you can't swim, don't stand next to the pool!
