I'm so in love with my iPhone lens. It makes me take pictures of stupid things.
I just can't help myself.
This was when I was waiting for Jordan to get her butt out of bed so we could see the hot air balloon launch. I thought if I waited in the car she would hurry faster.
It didn't really work.
And, we missed the launch. It's ok. I had a hard time getting up too and there were like 5 billion people in attendance so there was no place to park within 10 miles of the launch pad/park. And, the wind was blowing so much that the balloons never got too high. They just got above the tree line and went directly to their landing spots.
But, we did get to see some as we drove to Ihop for some breakfast.
Can you see the balloon?!
Yes, I was driving in all of these pictures.
Safety first.
(I just showed Jordan the above pictures and she said, "I didn't know you took pictures while we were driving." Really?! I literally had to reach over her to take them. #observantmuch
).
Here are a couple of pics Amelia took from her office window. I'm so jealous of her view. All I see at work is my cubicle wall...
Yum. We had strawberry crepes. Delicious.
And, don't forget bacon. Jordan was in heaven. She loves her some bacon and hasn't had it since before her mission.
(It was still really early which is why she looks tired).
There was a parade in Provo and it's a pretty big deal to a lot of people. So many people camp out to save spots. That's some serious dedication/insanity.
I'm so not a parade person. I think I have crowd-induced anxiety. And man, was there a crowd. It was ridiculous. I dropped Jordan off semi-close to her group of friends then it took me 20 minutes, lots of turning around and a few choice words just to find my way out of Provo. Not only was University Ave closed, but so was Center Street and 900 East.
Seriously annoying.
I went home showered and went back to bed. I was not wasting sleeping-in time on my rare day off. For lunch, Jordan and I went to a BBQ with some family friends that we've known since I was a baby.
In the afternoon, I went to the movie Rock of Ages with my friend Rachelle.
It was hands-down the WORST movie I have ever, ever seen. And, 2 of my friends had already seen it and didn't warn me that it was so awful. I really wish we had walked out. Our whole entire row left, but we stuck it out. Unfortunately. I guess I just hoped that it would get good at some point.
It did not.
Please don't see it.
I seriously wanted to clean my movie palate right away and immediately go to a better one, but we went to Ruby River instead.
I'm not much of a steak lover, but I had 6 ounces of steak heaven. It was so great. Mixed with the delicious garlic mashed potatoes, I was one happy gal.
Rachelle and I were going to go to Park City but they cancelled their fireworks show because most of Utah is currently burning, so we decided just to find a high spot in Utah County and enjoy the Staduim of Fire fireworks.
We found a pretty sweet spot up on the bench next to my old 'hood.
I didn't get any good ones of the actual fireworks (not really surprising) so you'll have to believe me that it's a good spot and the fireworks were cool. And the best part is that I got home in under 15 minutes.
It would have been A LOT longer if I had actually gone to Stadium of Fire.

On my way to work the next morning, I almost died.
Well, Lola (my car) almost died.
I was in the far left lane (you know, the fast one) when all of a sudden a HUGE orange barrel started rolling into my lane from the left hand side.
It was basically the size of my car.
AAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!
I couldn't move over because there was so much traffic so I scootched all the way over to the right side of the lane and braced for impact.
I had no other choice.
However, by some major miracle, I didn't even touch it. I have no idea how it happened. I had to have missed it by mere centimeters.
The Toyota Corolla behind me did not have as good of luck and he totally hit it. I'm sure it banged up his car some.

I saw this on Facebook the other day.
I love Matty. I hope he comes in concert again soon. And that I can go this time.
