So, I'm sure you've all seen the people who are super addicted to things like Star Wars and Harry Potter, etc and go places dressed as characters or wear t-shirts with dumb sayings on them to show their devotion. You know, the people we make fun of at movie theaters and bookstores. Well, unfortunately, I found myself being "one of those people" a couple of weeks ago when the 4th book in the Twilight series came out. I'm still a little embarrassed to be completely honest! I had no intention of participating in the hooplah that was sure to surround this book release (but really, what else is there to do in Provo???) and was quite satisfied with my closet addiction to the adventures of Edward - he's just so dang dreamy - and Bella. However, my friends Jen and Sara convinced me that I just had to join them in the parties leading up to the big release - and, yes, I even made a t-shirt. It was unexpectedly fun and I'm happy to say that I finished the book in about a week and can now do other things like laundry that I neglected while I was reading.

Once again, I am not as on top of things as I wish I were, but I want to wish my dear friend Shannon a very happy birthday and let her know that she means the world to me! We have been friends for quite awhile and have shared some pretty crazy times. She's one of my very favorite people. I love this picture of us (with my cute sister Janae) at The Fray concert a couple of years ago. I can't remember what we were laughing at, but we had a great time. Shannon, thanks for being so great. You are the most loving and understanding person I know and I am so thankful for our friendship. I hope your 24th year is the best yet! Love you!

8/8/08 Opening Ceremonies, 29th Olympics

Pretty much my whole life, I have played my "girl card" as an excuse not to know too much about sports. I'm just not very interested. (It has a whole lot to do with my lack of hand/eye coordination and the fact that I never been much of an athlete myself). However, I love the Olympics and am very excited that it's time, once again, for the world to come together to cheer on our athletes. Maybe that's why I love these games so much. I'm watching the Opening Ceremonies right now and think that it's so cool how unified the world is during this time. It's also amazing to see people who have dedicated their whole lives and sacrificed so much to be the best in the world. They are definitely inspiring. I hope to become acquainted with more athletes during these games, but will end with a photo of my secret crush: Michael Phelps. Good luck baby!
